Steve got Haley to San Elijo beach in San Diego, California pretty easily - by promising dinner at a fancy restaurant. He mentioned that he wanted to take a walk on the beach nearby beforehand to look for sea creatures (also up Haley’s alley). As they strolled along the beach, changing directions abruptly a few times, Steve stopped them (in frame of the professional photographer), got down on one knee and asked her to marry him! Steve (who loves heights), planned a hot air balloon ride to follow that ended up being postponed to the next day due to weather.
